When it's not positive, you cut a hole in the ice and swim in the hole :D But yeah, a sauna that is from +80 - +100 celsius hot is required before and after that.

That is actually the proper temperature for a wooden heated sauna. Electric heated ones have more of a bite to them so with them it doesn't have to be so hot.

What's this deal with Finns lately?

I just finished reading a post where the author mentions the below at the end of the post. After reading, I browsed through this thread and again saw references to Finland :)
We, as a species are obsessed with certainty, binary answers to complex questions, and with comparing ourselves and our organizations to others. It's human nature. The answer to "who's the most advanced, who's winning" is an unknowable unknown, unless of course, you've been to Finland. They are the smartest, most curious and humble people so what they're doing is right, just copy them.

Karelian pasty is a great finnish invention. Karelian pasty with eggbutter (butter mixed with hard boiled eggs) is perhaps the greatest thing Finland has given to the culinary world.

A colleague of mine used to take jobs piloting small aircraft in Northern Canada just to have those long days painting in the studio on her days off. The paintings all seemed to be northern landscapes from the air. :lol: Must be great having light that moves and changes much slower.

She always returned to the southern tip of Vancouver Island for her winters though.

Kinda a big day for us here in the states, hope everyone is enjoying a tasty beverage, some grilled meat and at least plan to take in some pyrotechnic displays. Happy 4th of July.

And if you're not American, it doesn't mean you can't do the same, no worries.
