Ya know, I have to say I'm not that blown away. Maybe as I see more previews I'll warm up to it, but right now I'm just...

Love it - very excited for this.
Hulkbuster Armour just looks ace!
And was that Andy Serkis? Possible Stephen Strange?

Marvel's Phase 3 all laid out at ComicCon (got it downloaded so I can dropbox it in case it gets removed).
Very excited!

Re: Comics and Superhero movies
10 movies in 5 years for Phase 3 (including ant man) - though interesting that they don't seem to anticipate a sequal for that... (not until 2020 at least anyway).
Casting for Dr Strange is ace if it pans out, and the introduction of Black Panther and Captain Marvel are really exciting too!
I don't really want to wait. (Or think about the fact I'll hit the big 4 0 when Avengers 3.2 comes out!)

At first I was confused at first by the Captain Marvel movie because I know DC is making a Shazam movie.
A friend told me that the Captain Marvel movie will likely be a female lead...
I had no idea that Marvel had a Captain Marvel character as well

Re: Comics and Superhero movies
In the video I linked, they announced that it's the Carol Danvers version, so it's definitely a female lead.
I guess most people know the character as "Ms Marvel", and I think she (Carol Danvers) only changed her alter ego to "Captain Marvel" in recent times (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Several others have had the name before though.

Re: Comics and Superhero movies
So anyone watching Gotham? I'm loving it personally and this past week's episode was freaking awesome. Penguin is an evil little fucker, probably the best depiction of the character yet. The whole cast from the gal that plays Catwoman to Det Bullock and Falcone are just damn good. My only gripe is Barbara Gordon, not a fan of Erin Richards.

Yep, although I'm not quite caught up yet. Wasn't left wanting more after the first episode, so it took me a little while (ie running out of other things to watch) to start again. Just saw the 4th episode, it's getting better and better now, picking up speed.

Re: Comics and Superhero movies
As another attempt to hijack this thread, here's another comic / card cover. This time from a new storyline Marvel started.
Edit: darn thing rotates to landscape orientation when I attach it. Sorry for the need to tilt your head.

Re: Comics and Superhero movies
Agent Carter looks good so far, the lead actress is doing well IMO. But man am I looking forward to the continuation of Agents of SHIELD. Big stuff happened in the mid-season finale, and you know it'll tie in with Avengers 2 once it starts back up.
Btw another show I picked up that almost flew under my radar is Constantine, which I've enjoyed so far. Recommend you check it out if you like the character or enjoyed the Keanu Reeves movie a while back.

Re: Comics and Superhero movies
Moved this from the Last Person thread:
I think Marvel is doing anything but scraping the barrel. Sure, Ant-Man isn't exactly mainstream, but with the success they've had so far I won't fault them for any choices until they actually make a bad one. Guardians of the Galaxy was a bigger hit than anyone could have imagined, and comics-wise Ant-Man is quite an important character in the Marvel universe. Plus the cast is good, so as long as Joss Whedon is involved I'll be looking forward to the next one and how they all eventually tie together (Avengers 3 will no doubt be the epitomy of epicness).sprouts1115 wrote:I don't know. Re: Comics and Superhero movies
Not sure about Fantastic 4. But Fox have upped their game recently with the X-Men franchise, so hopefully this will get the same treatment. There are already rumours FF + XMEN will cross over at some point.

There's also this, but I honestly don't see it happening. Would be a bad move by Marvel letting it happen IMO.montecarlojoe wrote:Not sure about Fantastic 4. Re: Comics and Superhero movies
Depends how they approach it I suppose - if it was set at the school in the 80's period they'd have a lot of scope to play with - teachers and pupils don't need to be the big stars in the movies (but could cameo), a bit like Agents of Shield.

Re: Comics and Superhero movies
Best solution, bring back the 90s after school cartoon. By far the best iteration of X-Men ever.

Sweet! Nice nod to Thor and Iron Man too. Looking forward to this (and all the Defenders series).
I wonder if they'll feature in Infinity War?

Yep it is quick. And all episodes in one go too. Tempted to get Netflix just for these series, but I already have Amazon.
Maybe just wait for the box set?

From what I've heard it's fairly easy to get more than 1 free "first" month of Netflix (if they still do that).

Re: Comics and Superhero movies
Netflix is less than $10 for streaming isn't it? With all the content they have and are putting out its well worth it. I'm still shocked at how well their Marco Polo series came out. It wasn't historically accurate per se, but damn the costuming was amazing as was the cinematography. Really looking forward to their collaboration with Marvel.
Do yourself a favor, drop a pledge by one deck and get Netflix.

Also, Daredevil is out on Netflix. I've downloaded the whole thing, but haven't watched it yet.

... downloaded? .. you need to catch up to modern times.
Kodi (previously known as XBMC) is what all the cool kids use today.
I have an android TV box that runs KODI, and a week or so ago I had a friend load KODI onto a Amazon Fire Stick that I bought in the states.
Here's a video of the amazon fire stick running KODI.. and using the Genesis video plug-in
there is no fees for this service.. and no fees to Amazon.
You really should look into this.. the stick is like $40

I don't have a place where I can set something like that up yet, so unfortunately I still watch everything on my computer
Will move into an apartment of my own (that isn't temporary) during the summer though, will look into this then.
