Coins... I think I might want them...

Unread post by SBurk49 »

I only started collecting playing cards this past March... But I saw CBJ's dealer coin collection and I suddenly became extremely envious.

That being said, I plan on starting to add coins to my collection in 2015. Is there any way to get the coins from past decks? (Obviously Ebay)

If not its fine, I'll just start with my KS pledges that I do in 2015. I've finally gotten to where I dont BUY ALL THE THINGS!!! I now am more choosy and look for certain features before I jump.

A few of them, like Scott King's coins, dealer buttons and card cards are available, I think. They definitely sell quite a few online, but I'm not certain which is any of the playing card decks-related ones are in that list. I have most of theirs, maybe all but a very few. I think I only ordered one, that was the UC2014 / Grotesque coin.

Check the deck designer's store front or website. They might be selling excess coins from their KS campaign.

I decided quite early on that getting coins on top of decks wouldn't have a high enough cost-to-enjoyment ratio for me. Good for you if you find that it does, though. Can't deny that coin collections like CBJ's do look verra naize :D

I agree, I wanted to get my own treasure chest full of coins when I seen that. Had to peel myself off when I realized how much more expensive it would be for me. If I do come across coins though in my pledges and stuff, I will gladly trade for decks or something.

So like, are you interested in playing card campaign coins, or custom coins in general? Kickstarter has a bunch of custom coin campaigns, all the time.

I'm thinking more along the lines of Coins that have a theme that match a deck of cards I have.

But I agree with some of yall... Coins on KS campaigns are like $10 or more. So I'm still on the fence about it.

If you're somewhat interested in the coins, get them during campaigns. $10 is a bit of a stretch with coins unless you really want them. But it'll get worse aftermarket. I hesitated on the Seven Seas coins. It was gonna be $20. Now on their website I'm looking at about $30 with shipping. Kicking myself for it.

Anyone have extras and wants to trade? :)
