Expand your Knowledge(base)

You might have noticed a slight change to the site structure...

We have made the knowledge base it's own category and created some appropriate subcategories. Some parts you will recognise - like the Worldwide Time Machine, whilst others were inspired by the work of enthusiastic and passionate members (who hopefully will continue to curate their work!)

It isn't a vast resource right now - but what is there is valuable - and you can help build it up: if you have an interesting tidbit, a passion project or if there is something you would like to know that you can't find in there (or you have an answer!) then pop it in the Q&A section!

So since general users don't have access to respond to any posts in the knowledge base, I guess the next best thing would be for us to start a new thread under Q&A to add to the conversation about it?

Everyone can respond, just not start new threads. That's the intention anyway, if that's actually not the case we'll have to recheck the settings.

I only have the option to reply to threads in this forum - Worldwide Time Machine. I can reply and create new in Q&A as expected.

The following forums don't allow for me to reply to existing threads
Buyers' Guides
History & Culture
Technical Reference
Media & Advertising

Then we (ie Joe, next time he comes on) will get that rectified. The idea of the Knowledge Base threads was always to have them in the same format as Justin's recent Buyer's Guide threads; the first post in each thread contains information and is updated in the event that the discussion below it reveals new information.

Thanks for letting us know, guys :) Sorry for the inconvenience.
