UC 2015 Christmas Exchange

Dear good members of UC !

Last year we moderators had a little fun with a private christmas exchange! It was so much fun that we decided to some of your folks in! Its a great opportunity to show your generosity and creativity! But hold your socks, there of course has to be a couple of rules !

1. We obviously cannot let everyone in, we have decided on only members with 250 posts and above to participate (Sorry, we gotta know you a little more before we get all cuddly right?)
2. The gift has to be something playing card related, does not have to be cards itself. However you must give something that you would be proud to say i gave that! So no bicycle standards please!
3. Postage can be international, regardless of location, if you participate you agree to ship your item to the far ends of the world, or maybe just two streets down all depending on luck.
4. Leave your name below in a comment saying im in! Drop me a private message with your full address.
5. Please PM me by the 7th of December, I will be collating the names and addresses then, otherwise stuff might not reach by Christmas!

Thats all ! Not that difficult right? Ill pm you with your recipient on the 8th-9th December so you can get the items out soon =)

We already have a few moderators that are in, so come join in the fun, and post pictures of the items when they arrive!

Cheers,
Kai

Before going in I have a question- is there a price range here? I don't want to send someone a deck worth $10 and receive one worth $20 or vice versa- I'd feel bad.

I don't think we really decided on a range, but $15-$20 is about what we might want to use. Seems reasonable without putting too much on anyone. Of course if you want to spend $30, it's not going to upset the process. Maybe we should discuss a little further? $15-$25 might be more reasonable, though I hesitate to move it up any more so just about everyone who wants to participate can.

Good to know! What about something that cost less but is worth more? Point blank, I wanted to give away one of the "Mistake" Silver Limited Emerarld Tally-Ho Display decks but I don't want to short-change someone... IDK maybe I'm over thinking it.

Vasta41 - I think a better way to think of it is that nobody should feel obligated to spend more than $15-$20 - but if you have something novel that you got for less or even for free, or you want to spend more to give someone a surprise then there's nothing to say you can't do that.

The guidance is really to stop cynical participation - sending something worthless (or worse, uninteresting) in order to get something for "free". Not that I really think anyone here would do that of course ;)

FYI he's helping me out with some things right now so if there's anything I can do to help him participate while he's gone I'd be more than happy to! Even if it's fronting a deck we both have that he can return to me later. Or something like that...

No, and I won't get home till the 23/24. That's if things don't change and I have to stay gone longer.

Is this still on? I haven't heard back yet about whom I'm supposed to send my gift to... :(

I'm just sad I missed the deadline, been too busy to seriously consider it. Although I must say, the thought of possibly having to pay $20+ to ship to some unknown country put me off a bit. I'm totally fine sending a fine deck and reasonable shipping, but international luck of the draw did put a downer on my enthusiasm and potential generosity. Perhaps next year...

I am really glad you opened it up to all members, thanks for organizing! :D :ucstar: :ucstar: :ucstar: :ucstar: :ucstar:

I received my gift today (well Christmas Eve), but I didn't see in the packaging who sent it, so whomever did so, thank you!

In the words of the great Samuel L. Jackson. Merry Christmas to all and to all, have a ball!

On the flip side, Sinjin totally blew me away with the "little" care package he sent my way...

I received my gift exchange package yesterday. Honestly, I was a little concerned because I thought it would be likely that I would get duplicates of decks I already have in my collection from whoever sent me playing cards. I got lucky with my draw and Mike got assigned to me, and he sent me a package of decks that almost no one else has. . . .the Mana Sybil set!

I got one Livida deck and a gold/silver deck box set numbered 232/1000, plus the coin. A big thanks to Mike, these will definitely help tide me over until I get my own order from Erik, if that ever happens.

Sorry so late, buddy. You got caught in my holiday vortex. The package was ready to go on the 18th when my wife's aunt passed, and after two more deaths in the immediate family before the 30th, we didn't make it back home u til the 8th..

All the outbound mail, carat cases included, went out last Monday.
