Mike you considered installing Tapatalk in uc forum? In Europe it's used in most forums, I don´t know its expansion in the United States or other parts of the world.

Tapatalk hasn't any cost to the forum, and is the most convenient way to visit a forum through mobile.

greetings.

I am not familiar with it. I will see if any of the mods are.

Thanks!

Just wondering if this will happen? Most if the other forums I am on use it and it sure makes it easier to keep up with them all in one place. Thanks for the consideration.

Interesting idea. I use it for the pinball forums I visit. :)
Could come in handy here. Mainly because this mobile version is doing my head in. Coz for some reason it signs me out ever half hour or so.

I think it once was installed - or someone had started. The remnants were visible after the recovery. I can take a look

Update: Give it a go - you should be able to get a UNited Cardsts feed using tapatalk now - but please bear in mind that it does not deal with graphical elements or our bbcodes very well.

Thanks so much for giving us the option! Too bad about the custom bbcodes, would be nice if ucimg would at least work. Maybe that can get sorted out in time. Thanks again.

Good one, Joe! I got offered it when I started this morning and it's already installed on my Android phone. Works well for text only, but needs some work to support graphics.

I've simplified the UCIMG tag - it should still function the same way (actually better in mobile view) AND now in Tapatalk.

Attachments already work ok

The other graphical elements like the colour frames... don't hold your breath!

tapatalk doesn't cope with <style> tags in the body at all - I'll dig but I'm not sure how much I can do...

Edit - I think I may be able to move styles out of the BBCODES into a dedicated stylesheet. Kickup etc wont look like you might expect in Tapatalk but it will look tidier. I wont get to that till tomorrow though.

Update: I've moved the inline styles out of the bbcodes, so you shouldn't be flooded with code in tapatalk every time you look at a thread with, say, the KICKUP widget.

If things don't look quite right here you probably need to flush your cache - most desktop browsers just hit ctrl+F5 or shift+f5. On mobile there should be an option in the browser menu/settings.

Just wanted to say thanks again for adding this. I also should mention this is why I spend 80% of my time here (vs other playing card forums). It's just so much easier and engaging to access the site through the app than in a browser.

No problem. There have been a couple of updates released I really need to look at installing them!

+1

I also mostly only use the app to access this forum. Very handy :)

Since installing iOS 11 and updating to the latest version on Tapatalk the app has stopped working with UC forum. It does pull all the information from the forum but doesn’t pull what has been read and what hasn’t. Private messages don’t work at all. Not sure if it’s a problem with the app or the forum. Anyone in the same situation as myself? Any ideas what could be the problem?

I’m not to post at all to the forum through the Taptalk app....

There's probably a more up to date plugin for the site - I'll take a look when I get home this evening

Thanks for looking into this Joe.

Unfortunately it seems that the issue hasn't been fixed, at least for me.

Here is what the app shows when looking at all my unread posts right now, as you can see it shows that over 999 posts are unread when in reality I only have 7 unread threads:

Here is what my unread posts status actually is as seem on the web version of the site:
Screen Shot 2017-10-12 at 23.56.01.png
Here is what the app still shows me when trying to access my PMs:

Any idea what could be the problem?

Have you tried logging out and in again? Seems like it thinks you're not logged in (hence the 999+ unread).

i thing 4oC is right.

Try tapping the menu icon at the top right and see if you have the option to sign in...

Unfortunately that doesn't yield any results. The usual "have you turned if off and on again?" fix didn't work this time

I have been logging out and back in numerous times before you updated the script and have since done it again a few times and still no results. I have also deleted the app several times and reinstalled it and still nothing. Also to note, I have tried using both versions of the app, Tapatalk v7.0.0 (ad supported) & Tapatalk Pro v7.0.1 and there is no difference in the behaviour.

Hope that info helps in any way.

I don't think there is anything I can do... the Tapatalk software is as up to date as it can be...

I'll see if I can find similar issues on the web.

Have you tried removing UC from your Tapatalk account then re-adding it?

Just to check - you're on iPhone?

Are you able to post to other forums? (not UC)

I have done that, still no change.

Yes, I'm on the iPhone with the latest software 11.0.3 and the issue has been present since upgrading to iOS 11 which also brought in the v7 update of the Tapatalk app.

Haven't tried posting on other forums because UC is the only forum I follow

Hehe same here - I only ask because it would be quick check to see if it's an issue specifically with UC.

I'm on Android (seems to work) - is there anyone else on IOS who uses Tapatalk?

Also - another standard that might help - have you tried clearing the app cache on your phone?

The problem has somehow fixed itself now and the app is working properly on iOS :)
