Hello everyone I am working on a deck of cards that I started 3 years ago. I had some ideas and started working on a card back and then I set it aside and finished 2 other decks. I just recently thought I would come back to the deck and I like where it is going so far. It is going to be called Phonograph 5. The colors are not official yet but pretty close here are some photos. I have several options for the card backs and would love to hear what you think.

I was thinking about doing a phonograph for the jokers one in color and one black and white.

I will not be doing the courts like I did for the joker I will be doing more traditional Courts. I am still working on them. And yes this will be a two color suits deck 2 suits red 2 suits blue unlike my previous decks.

I think you need to work on the scaling on the back design. Currently, it's off/different on each side.

I think a traditional joker ON a phonograph might be better than just a phonograph.

The design on the card back is at an angle.

Hello everyone here is an update on my next deck Phonograph 5 which I hope to launch on Kickstarter later this year. The court cards are inspired by my favorite deck made by Goodall. Any thoughts about the colors I was thinking about doing two decks one would be the red back and one would be blue back. I was thinking about going with EPCC this time and doing one of the decks as a limited 500 print deck with special features like maybe foil on the tuck I still need to talk to bill and get some ideas for the tuck material and anything else. I wanted to do something different. Your suggestions would be much appreciated.

Like the courts! Yes the tuck needs work. Don't have the card back pattern be on the front. Bruno's idea a good one.

TGunitedcardists idea of Jokers on phonographs a great idea.

Is there Phonograph 1-4? If not, why use #5?

The court cards look nice. I'd like to see BLACK instead of blue for the letters and pips of clubs and spades.

Very good looking. I think that black letters is better than blue.

Hello everyone I updated the pips to black and red I think it looks good. I am still thinking about the tuck box I'm just not sure yet if I will make any changes to it but we will see. I am still finishing up my last Kickstarter getting out packages and such but I hope to launch this deck later in the year.

I think the court cards look fantastic. They are really nice and the way you put the colors together...really good.

The back design...not so much.

I might pledge just because I like the courts and they are really playable. But I'd get more if with a better back design. For some reason, I think musical notes in an old style would be a nice back design. That's my feedback. Overall, nice!

I like what I see. Even the back. However... I would like the back much, much, much more if it were not so obviously one-way. Making it two way should be relatively easy, it seems to me....

I agree that those courts are super-appealing. They look vintage and the color scheme is so unique. The back is lacking that wow factor for me.

I agree with everyone else...courts are fantastic, but the back (and tuck) need some re-work...I like TG's suggestion of using music notes as it seems it would go better with the theme...keep up the great work!

Thanks for the valuable feedback guys I have lots to think about. Rousselle i'm not sure why you think the back is a one way back it's not supposed to be, unless i'm missing something.

Hello Everyone I decided to try something else for the card back and I think it turned out nicely. I tried to incorporate elements from the court cards and the design is based off of a similar back deign made by Goodall. I appreciate your feedback very much Thanks.

I think this card back is much better than the previous one! Once small change I might suggest is to change the middle 12 blobs (kind of a strange shape) and replace them with musical notes or just leave them out altogether and keep the lines. I did a quick and dirty photo edit if my explanation sucks.

Overall, this will be a nice deck of cards!

Thanks Bruno I also liked the original card backs but I think the new back goes better with the theme now. Also could you tell me what HMV is maybe i'm missing something but I've never heard that before?

I like all four colors! Choosing 2, blue and green.

I'm officially looking forward to this project and will part with my money.

Can you post the card cards?
Will they have 4 custom/elaborate aces or just the Ace of Spades?

Hello everyone I have been trying to work on the tuck box and I have something for the standard deck not sure about it though. I had trouble finding much inspiration I looked at a few boxes from Goodall's decks but most boxes from the time period were very plain what I saw. Let me know what you think Thanks Landry

Not a big fan of that tuck, but those sides are nice.

Your card design is splendid and I am really looking foward to this.
