Pinstriped playing cards
Hello everyone I am working on something new for 2016. Pinstriped playing cards. What do you guys think so far? Still trying to decide what to do for the court cards. The colors are close to what I'm thinking about but I could still change them. I am working on the pips at the moment.

Interesting! As for what to do with the courts, easy: Pinstripe Courts!

Re: Pinstriped playing cards
The back design isn't overly exiting, but I'm not partial to these kinds of pinstripes, so there's that . How are your drawing chops? I'm envisioning courts that are ridden or riderless motorcycles, in a fairly illustrative and detailed style. Maybe something like this:
Because of the skinny dimension, you could have a vertical mirror line instead of a horizontal one. That's more like a motorcycle deck though, not a pinstripe one. Ah, do what you want! (but make sure to post it, weee!)

Re: Pinstriped playing cards
Here is a look at the ace of spades two different ideas for the corners of the cards shown. All the aces pips will be pinstriped.

I like this deck, looking forward to seeing more. Voting for the ace without the corner element. I hope you go with EPCC as UPCC will have problems with the thin border.

Re: Pinstriped playing cards
I really like the look of this deck, but the name Pinstriped does not match the deck imho ...stripes envokes images of bands of varying colors and not intricate designs made by thin lines Still, I look forward to seeing more of the designs

Actually, based on that Ace, I think the name matches the deck perfectly. Really liking what I see so far.shermjack wrote:I really like the look of this deck, but the name Pinstriped does not match the deck imho ...stripes envokes images of bands of varying colors and not intricate designs made by thin lines Still, I look forward to seeing more of the designs

Re: Pinstriped playing cards
I think a white deck with black spades and clubs and red hearts and diamonds would be better...

Re: Pinstriped playing cards
Thanks for the link Flyers I didn't realized that the artform was called 'Pinstriping'...even though, Pinstriped still evokes images of thin lined shirts for me Oh well, minor issue...let's see more of the cardsflyers3003 wrote:Actually, based on that Ace, I think the name matches the deck perfectly. Re: Pinstriped playing cards
I like this deck, reminds me of Murano glass. Maybe that's a better suited name?
Pinstripe for a name is a no no, this deck is too colorful and wild for that.

Re: Pinstriped playing cards
Very good work.
I could not recognize J easily on this card. Perhaps switching to another font will be nice.

Re: Pinstriped playing cards
That JoH is a modified version of you Rainbow Illusion Metallic deck, correct? I think it might be much more interesting if you could incorporate some more pinstriping into the clothes of the courts (as you did with the halberd)...use more of the fine lines and not such solid colors

Re: Pinstriped playing cards
The J is hard to read. I'm not a fan of the font.
I like the colors of the court card on black.

Re: Pinstriped playing cards
ims_jam - The A, K, Q are about the same size. The Jack needs to also be the same size. It kind of stands out. The 10 should give you an idea of your maximum space...
