Re: Playing cards ARCANUM.
@vovkalex - Your aces are fine. Everyone likes big godly Aces. Bigger the better. Jokers look good. What if the background went from grey medium lines to dark grey fine lines all the way to the center. Gradually of course. It would look like small void in the center. They will say some of that detail is not going to show up in the center. And you say "That is my intension". I would get a demo deck just to see how far you can go.

Re: Playing cards ARCANUM.
Looking very nice!
I don't really think you need to change from gold - Gold/Silver/Black is a nice combo - but as you may be hinting at has been done quite a lot (The last two Gamblers Warehouse decks for instance)
Can't hurt to try other colours out though;
Bone/Ivory maybe?

Re: Playing cards ARCANUM.
I love your designs, but I think having all the cards the same color would make it difficult to play with. Maybe keep the black cards gold but make the red cards red?

Or you could try making just the indices red. Or even just give them red outlines.wahl0108 wrote:I love your designs, but I think having all the cards the same color would make it difficult to play with. Maybe keep the black cards gold but make the red cards red?

Re: Playing cards ARCANUM.
vovkalex - I see your indices have moved. They could be a hair bigger. Remember you don't have a suit indicator and your courts are custom. And your courts can be a bit bigger. Usually, we are bitching at the person who's bat crown is to close the cut border. In your case, it's opposite.
As for the color, Gold is Red and Gold is black. That's a no, no. You have 2 options to play with. MagikFingerz mentioned one. If Gold is red, make a shadow of a red outline for the suit Hearts and Diamonds in your index. Or if Gold is Black, make a shadow of a grey outline for the suit Clubs and Spades.

Re: Playing cards ARCANUM.
Really wish the courts were bigger !! There really is so much room for it to expand.
for your red/black cards issue, perhaps consider having the circle in the back to be red for red cards, white/grey for black cards, that should give you enough distinction.

Re: Playing cards ARCANUM.
Maybe keep the gold for the main design but have the pips in red (for the red suits))?

Re: Playing cards ARCANUM.
I still think the back design can be much better if it was completely reworked

Re: Playing cards ARCANUM.
@volantangel - I agree. When I look at this back it screams gold border unless he does something different and that's bad because I'm becoming fond of borderless backs.

Re: Playing cards ARCANUM.
Thanks for the comments. Decided to change the back of the playing card. These options were. Therefore postponed a week exhibiting at kickstarter.

Re: Playing cards ARCANUM.
I dont think the design you have for the back already (3rd option) is bad - but it needs something going on in the voids - perhaps in one of the secondary colours (grey/silver)
