Left box is the original one. Do you think that other two are better?

p.s. box's sides will be tweaked before the release if I go with #2 or #3. Front bottom boxes are all #3

And yes...I like #3 :ugdance: Well...back design ???

Ok. It's my 2nd attempt to add borders  And now I'll keep them in the release. IMHO borderless version of the back looks cheap (for this design).

I'll admit that I did not care for the original design; hated it actually. I own your other decks and was frankly disappointed. However, I really like the direction in which you have gone. The waves on the faces really flow now. I agree with your decision on the bordered back- I think border less would look a bit cheap. The "lightning bolt" back really improves the visual interest. The ice blue really sealed it for me however. I think bold colors rather than pastels really makes the back design feel more powerful. I would to see an "ice" green. In any case, this is quickly turning into a "must have" for me. Keep up the good work- it's only getting better.

I have to disagree, respectfully of course. The lightning bolt is exactly that, and thus is more removed from the original "wave" concept IMO. I also think not offerings these in a borderless version would be a travesty, but I think everyone here knows my feelings towards borders

Totally agree about the faces though, they have greatly improved!

yes, thanks for ideas and comments!

1. I think I am not ready for Kickstarter this Saturday

2. I have not posted ULTRA edition cards. Of course they are ready. It''s not a big deal. Same faces will be used BUT with horizontal symmetry instead of vertical one. Second difference - the background.

3. I am trying to catch the right color scheme for the ULTRA edition back/tuck

I have to agree with everything Tom said above: if there were a borderless version, I would be totally ordering a bunch more. I will still back the project if there isn't a borderless option, but your original ideas of a borderless back really worked for me, and would pry more money out of my wallet.

Different strokes for different folks, and all that.

I also agree that your court cards and faces are looking much stronger than they were, and I already liked them in general from the outset.

Still cannot create anything good with the borderless back  Every single version looks cheap

Current status:

1. I want to mute bright red by adding line waves to both sides of the card
2. I think the ULTRA edition is ok without a band and with different symmetry
3. Back colors should not be too bright (they will be darker when printed)
4. What about this background style? Playable?

New backgrounds on the courts are very interesting!

Hey... um... can we see some of the "cheap looking" mock-ups of the borderless backs? You know... just for grins?

Losts of trash so I'll upload something that I like. The reverse fan is not perfect but I know how to fix it.

I'm sorry, but for me every new variation of the back design strays further and further from what I liked about the initial design/concept. I'm curious as to where it'll end up, but I can feel my interest and excitement dwindling :(

I was asked to show some not-so-ugly borderless design. I have 100 more variations but I'll keep them private

One rule applies - there is no difference between love and hate

p.s. I need something very simple (back/box) for this deck

In fact it's an experiment to post sketches here on UC. Each design process is always like this. You start with one idea and finish with something very different. I don't really care about the original design. It's just a food for more ideas.

Still need to play with colors/bands/symmetry but overall it's a good try

Huh.

For the borderless design, the fans will look a lot more interesting, I suspect (although, I imagine you've tried this) if the waves along the left-hand side along the upper half of the deck curve ever so slightly downward (ie, toward the "middle") of the cardback near the edge. Instead of getting that cheap-kinda feel you're wrestling with, it should make for a more deliberate, circular-ish pattern.

I'm probably not describing this very well, but I think you might get a sense of where I'm going with this.

Thank! Yes, of course I understand! Previous back design was a sketch. Today I had more time to work. I think I can go without a white edition. First one could be with a colorful background and borders. And borderless ULTRA.
