I don't have any constructive suggestions just yet, other than to say I like it so far, and I look forward to seeing your progress!

Love the overall aesthetic and the big pips behind the figures. In this iteration, the heads don't seem to carry as much weight as the bodies. I think either adjusting the line weight or line color would help with that. This could be a gorgeous court set. Love the hats on the Jacks.

I agree with the line weights for the heads being a major problem. It looks like they were an afterthought compared to the rest of the card.

I don't mind the big pips behind the characters...kind of cool.

The smaller pips seem too close under the letter indicator for the cards. For example, look how close the Q is to hearts of the Queen of Hearts. Same for all the suits.

I like the jokers. The best cards of the bunch so far. The suits look different compared to the suits on the court cards. For example, the hearts look different.

I hate how some of the court cards are facing forward, some facing left, some in a 3/4 view and just the two Jacks facing right. Solution: Base the directions like a standard deck of cards, keeping the conventions:

http://www.wopc.co.uk/images/countries/ ... urts-2.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Spades + Jack of Clubs face right.
All others face left.
Jack of Spades and Jack of Hearts are one eye Jacks.
Etc.

Agreed. I think it's all relatively easy to fix, also like the chapeaus on the Jack's. Maybe have a falcon with the JoC? (in place of or in addition to the weapon).

The oversized pips: I never thought I would say this, but I would like a little MORE white space. Maybe just me, but it almost makes the cards feel busy.

Great job overall!

Looking good :)
I agree with the faces/heads needing a little more attention (line weight and maybe some hair colour too).
I'd suggest making the small pips a bit smaller (so they match the width of the letter). This would also give more white space around the indices and help balance out the design.
Liking the diagonal flow - and how the oversized pips form part of the background with flower/weapon overlapping... maybe add flower in hair on QoS and QoC to overlap as well? :)

Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it. Here are some sample backs. Two styles to pick from (top / bottom) and multiple colors.

It's a tricky one as both designs have something going for them :) ... maybe the top one (because of the retro wallpaper feel). 1 and 5 feel as though they suit the theme most, though I would love to see one of the blues or reds from the faces incorporated in the back (but that might just be me, looking for a connection between the two sides...) :) Are you thinking borderless back design or a white edge?

I am thinking of a 1/8 " white border. I may have a 2nd deck as a stretch goal. Thanks!

#1 and #2 stand out to me as being sufficiently unique while fitting the theme. I agree that 5 would be okay, too.

Don't really like the colors. Too bright and feel like they don't fit the faces. If anything #1.
Move on, nothing to see here.

Just my two cents on one aspect, the giant pips I'm fine with, but I think there is too much solid color in them it needs some breaking up. Like there is a lot of detail in the royalty, and then just solid black and gray taking over the entire top right corner.

Back #1 in a darker shade with an early version of tuck box.

Box needs bigger guard image and "The Guard" in the curve, not "Playing cards". Back should be card back, #1 or top brown, if you stay with that color. Too much brown on whole tuck too in my opinion. Looks cardboard-y.
Move on, nothing to see here.

I agree with Rich K and would add that the "wood grain" is not very appealing. I'd need to see a bigger version of the backs, but I'm liking the direction of the bottom design with more intricate detailing right now. Keep pushing!

Thanks for feedback, this was an early stab by the artist with no direction or feedback. Right now I'm leaning to a 2 deck set, so we may see two back versions.

Why two decks if it's just a back and tuck swap? No offense, but it's a lazy way to raise more money for you.

A lazy way to raise money would be to just do an alternative tuck. A lot of my customers like two decks sets with the same face but different backs / tucks, to allow for 2 deck games such as bridge, canasta, rummy, etc.

Also I am doing these decks because I love doing them, working with the artists, backers and community, etc.

I make my money from the retail side of my business, and will be lucky if one of these decks actually do better then break even via crowd funding.

Thank you for all the feedback, this is still in progress but I'm hoping to be launching a "Feline" deck this month and a "Knights" deck in December,
