Pressure fan tips

Fanning is probably the way I enjoy unique back designs the most, so much that it influences my criteria of the decks I buy.

Start with a thumb fan (took me MUCH less time than a pressure fan), use a brand new deck or one you know glides well and does not clump at all, wash your hands and do a few cuts and shuffles in between practicing to avoid having your fingers on the same top card for too long.

Didn't I give you those already? It's pretty much just trying to do it over and over and over, it's something you just have to get a feel for and that takes time. I read some tips when I was trying to figure it out, but nothing really helped until one day when it just clicked.

Ok a more specific question, when do you take out your thumb towards the end of the fan ? I cant seem to land that part properly.

I take it out about halfway through, but I also don't apply as much pressure as I've seen some do. In fact, the last half of the pressure fan I do is probably closer to a thumb fan since there's almost no pressure applied after that point (only my index finger remains). I suspect many people have different "styles" when it comes to pressure fanning, which might be why universal tips are hard to come by.

I can try to make some videos to show how I do it, but all I have available is the crappy webcam on my laptop
