[WRITTEN] Bicycle Eclipse

Bicycle Eclipse
Hello and thank you for reading my deck review.
Today i'm going to review the Bicycle branded Eclipse custom made deck by Juan G & LC Roman for their own brand called
Hidden Mirrors.
Its been printed by the USPCC in Erlanger,KY.
This deck was funded through a Kickstarter Project and is aviable since September 2012.
Lets take a look at the design :

Design

The box is pretty standard,no embossing or foil a simple box.
Nothing fancy in point of design, the four suites are pictured on the lon sides of the box andit says Hidden Mirros.
So really nothing fancy going on here...lets take a look at the cards ;-)

The back design is simple, not too much going on here but i think that its a good point.
The big black eclipse (circle) in the middle looks great in motion during card spins & flourishes.
It looks great in fans but in giant fans it looks awesome!

So far the back design gets a 5/5 from me.Simple and not overwhelming. Well done.
Now the face cards, this deck is a black deck but with white borders to prevent the edges from chipping.
I think he was successfull with this idea.I hated it when my black tigers started to look like garbage with those white spots on the top and bottom of the cards.
The court cards are basically inverted images of the standard court cards. The number cards got one pip empty (take a look at the attached photo).
Also the pips got white outlines to show up better on the black background .
The Jokers are two skull heads with top hats holding their bone fingers to the left or right.
I have to say they look cheap on the first sight...really cheap! I dont like them.
The aces are all jumbo pips and stand out really well.i love jumbo pips!

You also get 2 gaff cards : 1x double backer and 1x double facer (2of hearts / 10 of spades) perfect for anniversity waltz and other magic tricks.

The handling
Out of the box - the deck fanned great as you expected from a Bicycle branded deck.
The stock is thin and embossed so i assume it is standard Bicycle stock, the finish feels like air cushion.
But don't nail me on that.
It is tradiotonally cut, which means it faros easily front and back.

No rough edges, good job on the USPC quality control.
fter 1 day of use the cards started to clump up...like the ace fulton (brown/orange) decks.
Out of the box it fanned great , now so la la.
For cuts and flourishes it works great, the cards stay together.

I got mine from bmppokerworld.com and i paid $9.95 for one deck.
I give it a 3/5 because of the clumpy factor, high price and ugly jokers.
I like the design, extra cards are perfect for magis like me, and the traditional cut!
What drags the score down is the price.I expect from a $9.95 deck to be casino stock and magic finish.
I would love to perform with them more often but as i said, they are expensivefor a regular deck.

I hope you enjoyed the review!
