Re: 2018 Deck of the Year Contest & Prize Donations

Just wanted to put out there that others do collect a few of the tarots
I wanted to chime in too, that I haven't been around here as much because I've been more focused on collecting tarot and vintage playing card decks than new releases - so we're out there, even if we are quiet!

I'm sorry I didn't participate last year, but I'd like to offer a mixed brick for a prize.

Aw' man. It doesn't look like this one will make it. What a shame. I hope it's relaunched/or finds a way to production...

Sitting this one out, too. This seems like the kind of project that needs attention to detail and, well, Jackson hasn't been great at that for the last couple of projects I backed of his.

Agreed. While not receiving the gilded decks is disappointing, Chris has handled this very well. Other Kickstarter creators could take a leaf out of his book for what to do when you hit a brick wall.

[ISO] [BUY] 78 Tarot First Edition

Jasmine/CherryNukaCola here. I know a couple of people backed the original 78 tarot campaign (https://www.78tarot.cards/78-tarot-first-edition-deck/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and might have a spare copy or be willing to sell their deck. I don't mind open or used copie...

Love those backs. I'm wondering about that shimmering effect, too - maybe it's the lighting in the photos?

I'd love to take Räpylätassu's 2nd brick, if I may. Looks like there's quite a few interesting decks included! Thanks to everyone who donated!

Much to my surprise, I received an email last week asking for me to confirm my shipping address and today I received a deck - they didn't charge for shipping to Australia, which was unexpected and nice of them.

Re: 2016 Decks of the Year Contest - OFFICIAL (wap)

When 95% are playable poker decks it kinda seems redundant... Tbh, a lot of "best" decks aren't necessarily very good for playing with. Heretic (which won last year), comes to mind. I suggested it, as might be a nice way to recognize decks that may have sacrificed some artistry for playab...

Re: 2016 Decks of the Year Contest - OFFICIAL

I think you missed: Wicked Kingdoms (Wylie Beckert) Heckadeck (Travis Nichols) Wasteland (Jackson) Cryptic Cards (Immy Smith) As for the scoring: the only way to stop people from gaming the system is to distribute the prizes randomly or to eliminate prizes altogether. That does take away from the fu...

"I understand that they date to about 1500s and predate any cards used in the UK, but I am not a historian, so use this as a guide not fact."

He may not be a historian, but is he blind? One of the cards says 1793.
