Re: Tragoedia Macbethi Playing Cards - Experience the Tragedy of Macbeth
I’ve been curiously watching this design, wondering how well it would do on Kickstarter. Last year I did a Tudor Dynasty design that didn’t do well at all (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/randybutterfield/playing-cards-house-of-tudor?ref=user_menu). Sure, some of the reasons could have been the...

If you want a fully-custom Dragon Deck, then go to Jessica Feinberg. She’s done around 15 of them so far:

Re: Why no one is printing KS decks via USPCC or Cartamundi these days?
Hey Guru, I still print with Legends. I’ve printed with them regularly for almost 10 years. I just did the math - 43 different Decks for a total of 77,000 Decks printed with Legends since the original Draconians in late 2014. Crazy! And that’s not counting the LUXX Decks that JP printed with Legends...

Re: Limited Edition Tuck Box - Feedback
So, any shading we apply would be lost due to the ink absorption. This could be negated if we use a white cardstock and then apply the full illustration to that cardstock. We keep the red background in doing so, but extra details like shading become possible. If you print ink on a dark color paper ...

Re: TGW presents The Beetlebacks designed by Widakk
Over 110k in funding and nearly 600 backers... this is not something to look down upon. Sure! of course. I'm definitely overall a glass half full guy, but it is a bit deflating to drop $7k in funding. At the VERY top end of the campaign funding that money is really where the profit is. So $7k defin...

Re: TGW presents The Beetlebacks designed by Widakk
Why would you show up and not tell your fans to come to see you? I was already struggling at the potential return on investment for the original idea. besides if I didnt know and then I saw the result was this BTW the legacy is currently going for $138 on ebay. Oooof. I'd be PISSED and probably at ...

Re: TGW presents The Beetlebacks designed by Widakk
I have a complex thought on that. First, Im not that far north of Omar so theres a 50% chance if he did that it would be something I could get to. But...I dont know of that many opportunities in this area. Also for some producers (and he would be one) I would be a little upset that decks I want are...

Re: TGW presents The Beetlebacks designed by Widakk
I did that with the Successor Legacy edition and ended up being saddled with an extra 200 units I couldn't/can't sell. Like they're just sitting in a warehouse now? Have you considered offering them for sale again to Successor backers? That is correct. Sitting at gamblers. It feels like Selling the...

Re: House of Tudor by Midnight Cards (Spring 2023)
Thank you for posting about the House of Tudor Decks! I’m nervous and excited to see how this one goes. The Tucks are definitely my most luxurious in a very long time. I’ve had the Legends hardcopy proofs on my desk for months. They’re pretty sweet! I’m thinking maybe a June 6th launch (Noon EDT). H...

Re: Show us your (playing card related) coins
Do people trade/buy/sell the coins alone? There are some really nice ones here. Are coins only offered during the KS campaigns? (I'm more of an antique collector - I've supported a few KS campaigns but just stuck to the basics, didn't pay much attention to how they work beyond just getting a deck o...

Re: Show us your (playing card related) coins
It’s cool seeing all of those in one place! I forgot how cool the Honeybee and Imperial (with the red enamel) Coins turned out. The King of Tiger Coin enamels should’ve been much darker. The Studio didn’t even get close to the Pantone colors I picked for them to try to match. I was pissed about that...

i like this deck but there is something holding me back on it. i definitely like that the 2 deck's designs are different and not just a recolor. unless i missed it, do the tucks have any features? i see no mention of a matte stock or foil or anything else. $15 per is a bit stiff for me with no tuck...

Re: Miami Lights Card Deck | Presented by Flo Rida
Someone commented on the KS asking what their plan is, as it's obviously not making funding. 2TON responded: We are weighing our options. Still a few big cards to play. If we do not hit our goal, we will produce without theory11 so that our minimum investment/raise can be much smaller. I'm trying t...

Re: Miami Lights Card Deck | Presented by Flo Rida
This is very interesting! Based on years of Ad Agency experience, here’s my guess at what’s going on: My guess is Flo Rida (with backup from Theory 11) first enlists 2TON with the task of creating a fully-custom Deck. Ad Agencies aren’t built for such a project. Say it takes 50 hours of creative wor...

Euchre V4 and Loner Hand Euchre Club Deck - KICKSTARTER
Hey Everyone, I’ll be launching my newest pair of Euchre Decks tomorrow on Kickstarter - Monday, October 3rd at Noon EDT. They’re not big sellers with the online market, but they’re mainly meant for the shows I do in Indiana and Michigan. They’re huge sellers at those shows! The Euchre V4 Deck is a ...

Re: Zentangle Playing Cards - how to accomplish designing this on an iPad?
Hey EndersGame,
I don’t use Procreate, but I prepped all of the Face Cards (with USPCC Dies) for a buddy who does use it. They’re Layered PSD files for each, and I think he was able to open each one in Procreate as a Layered file.
Do you want me to send them your way?
Thanks, Randy

Re: Bicycle Sketch and Draft from PCD.com (ill. Randy Butterfield) [KS]
Did you consider not having the rings on the card faces at all (like the blue ones) and just having them on the tuck? It's just weird to have something that makes no sense in the context of the theme of the deck. Yes, I did. I play around with a bunch of ideas and options when I’m designing. I alwa...

Re: Bicycle Sketch and Draft from PCD.com (ill. Randy Butterfield) [KS]
Hey Everyone, I played around with the wires on the Face Cards only being on top, but I didn’t like it - at all. It really affected the balance of everything else within each Face Card, since the Indices are in the normal spots for both sides. It doesn’t have to be so literal, so I took a designers ...

You know the first day is so important for playing cards campaigns. I'm going to be doing my best to make sure as many people know about this launch as possible. Brandon Sanderson is a writing robot! How does someone secretly write 5 books in their free time in 2 years? That is on top of his normal writing workload? He deserves all the success he gets! I personally love the books and don’t have any problems with this campaign! I can’t claim to know much about running a KS, but I thought stretch goals was how you justified free items. I heard USPCC’s increase is monstrous! How much? Not sure. Someone I know mentioned that USPCC’s 2022 price increase is the largest he’s ever seen from them.
