Re: Waterproof

It will keep a couple drops of rain from ruining the deck and tuck, but it is not watertight. Drop the deck in a bucket of water and you can kiss the deck goodbye in 15 minutes. I don't recall hearing of anyone pressure testing decks of cards to any depths. Although, you could see what Kem's do in a...

I got mine today. Much like Ben Taylor's, but mine had a couple boxes of Bicycle Dice included. Now I'm all set.

Re: USPC's "Bicycle 808 Club" -- Official Thread

Once I requested to be an Ambasador, that choice is no longer available in the Articles section.
They don't like the idea of me requesting mutiple kits, I guess.
By the way, when you get the email with invitation templates, they give you a code key for 35% off one purchase at the Bicycle Store.

Re: USPC's "Bicycle 808 Club" -- Official Thread

Marketing sent an email to those that "signed up" this year. The email included templates for invitations and other printed notices. THe email also hinted that this was all that I was getting. I responded to the email to elicit a personal response. Whomever replied to my email claimed that...

Tom,

That's very impressive! I especially like the Wall display, simple and effective.
Did I see only one pair of UC decks? :o Where's your loyalty, man? :?:

Great Ornates' brick boxes. Very sweet!

Re: Bicycle Red Plastic Cup

They could release a Blue Cup deck just by changing the color of the cups. Sort of "Blue Crown-ish". I wonder if they just had some old red ink sitting around that they had to either use up or throw away. Or was the USPCC breaking in a new graphics artist and giving him an easy project to ...

Re: Playing Cards Storage Boxes (big)

Library glass has a tint applied to the inside to reduce damaging UV rays from incoming light. That and not letting copious amounts of light in in the first place help reduce long term damage.

Re: Playing Cards Storage Boxes (big)

Barrister Cabinets are the way to go. Nice glass doors show off the collection just perfectly. And if you are overly anal, you could provide environmental controls for long term preservation (assuming you are not going to sell off the decks in the near-future). NOw if I were stupid wealthy, I would ...

Re: Bicycle Prestige (redesigned) -- Coming this April

A few months back there was a rumor of USPCC killing off the KEM line. Mike was kind enough to ask USPCC and the response never did answer the question. So now we see this KEM-like change to Prestige. This again raises the question(s): 1) Is Bicycle/USPCC/Jarden killing off (absorbing) the KEM manuf...

Re: Desjgn Playing Cards: 100% plastic playing cards on KS

I've found that Jason's plastic cards hold up to use very well. They don't flake off like the Bicycle Prestige, or other plastic cards. I also like his use of color. For playing card games, Desjgn decks are among the best. I, for one, am backing this Kickstarter project. Then no more Kickstarter.

Re: How many decks repeated in your collection?

I try to get two of each design (that I choose to acquire). At least one deck goes into a plastic box for display, leaving one open deck to handle, scan, and put into play. I have only a couple bricks or other multiples. About five multiples out of 1900+ designs.

Re: Bicycle UnitedCardists Deck (Poll added & Pictures Add

My preference (for what it's worth) it for the writing in the slant.
The UC logo in the center makes it a bit confusing on a first glance.
I'd like a classy look, the cleaner the better. IMHO.

Yes !!!! I agree with the slant change. The rest is just classy enough with the right amount of color to work for performers and card games. I might have to increase to more than just one brick. :D

Re: Single deck clear storage boxes?

The short answer is yes. I buy them by the case of 100 about three times a year. I use the single and double (50 and 100) all the time (about 1500 so far) and they work great for a sealed deck or two. When I get home later, I will get you more info (brand, contact, prices...).
